Dance, dance, dance in Tallinn!

In case you didn’t realise yet, the keyword for the Tallinn tour stop was dancing! Some very cool new campaign activists came up with a funky dance routine for a flashmob. As expected, we turned quite a few heads with this and attracted some Rocca al Mare shoppers to dance along. To continue the rhythm, Queen Elizabeth hosted a fun dancehall workshop and it was Francois who got a bunch of people stomping with random items. The drum workshop he organised made the beat sound in the furthest corners of the mall. All this helped gather around 400 signatures to help make chocolate fair. If you missed the chance to sign the petition, feel free to do it right here in the tour blog or on makechocolatefair.org. Thanks to everyone who participated and if you didn’t quite get enough of fair chocolate, just get in touch (makechocolatefair@mondo.org.ee)! Until then, keep an eye on the tour blog and campaign website for updates.
Tallinna tuuripeatuse võtmesõnaks on küll vaieldamatult „tants”!

Chocolala – finding fair spirit in Tallinn

Discussing fair trade with an Estonian pioneer.

In Tallinn we could witness the hand over of the Estonian "Fair Trade Friends" awards. Besides initiatives, retailers and shops, also one chocolate producer got awared: Chocolala, a small privately owned Talliin based chocolate manufacturer. We thought this to be a perfect opportunity for a very spontaneous post-award interview and for following up on our Riga talk with Baltic chocolate producers. WATCH the video about our chat with Kristi Lehtis - head of Chocolala, the first Estonian company to use the Fairtrade certification mark on their products.

Flashmobs and stomping = MCF! in Tartu

Some 20 youth were the stars of the tour stop in Tartu. With 5 flashmobs in and around Tartu Kaubamaja we sure attracted some attention. Of course, the chocomobile helped too: there were some curious folk wondering about the vehicle throughout the day. Though we were greeted by about 20 minutes of heavy rain just in the middle of setup, the event itself was relatively rain free and oh-so-warm after the chilly day in Riga. With new and already experienced activists, we collected almost 500 signatures to help make chocolate fair.
